What legislation mandates health checks in Italy?

The Italian Decree 81 / 2008 establishes that employers must conduct health checks for their employees. Therefore, Remote is subject to these obligations and has to administer health checks for employees even though the work may be performed “remotely”.

Based on the employee's job type, health checks to be provided include general screening and visual checks. The Decree explicitly imposes recurring health checks every 5 years for employees who  are to 50 years old, and every 2 years for employees older than 50 years. The Decree also imposes an initial health check, at the start of the employer-employee relationship.
