If I don’t subscribe to Remote Equity, will Remote still be responsible for reporting and withholding of taxes related to equity compensation for employees?

Yes. For EoR employees, as the local employer, Remote is almost always legally responsible to report any taxable amount relating to equity compensation to the local tax authorities (and does so proactively in countries where it is not clear who the responsible person for reporting/taxes payment purposes is).

However, without using Remote Equity, you will be responsible for providing Remote with the proper equity documentation and tax information to use for tax/withholding purposes.
