What is the Journée de Solidarité?

Journée de Solidarité (or Solidarity Day) is an additional day of work - unpaid - provisioned by the Labour Law intended to finance actions in favor of the autonomy of elderly or disabled people. The usual practice is to have Employees work on a public holiday chosen by the Employer but it can also be split into 7 hours of overtime across multiple working days (Source).
