Who is required to observe the Journée de Solidarité?

Only employees on a 35 hour/week contract will need to observe the Journée de Solidarité. Meanwhile, employees on a 38.5 hour/week or daily rate contract do not need to observe the Journée de Solidarité as it is already included in their working time. 

    • 38.5H/week lump sum: Journée de Solidarité is already included in the capped maximum of 220 working days per year.
    • Daily rate (or 218 days lump sum): the Journée de Solidarité is already included in the 218 working days per year.
