If an assessee received any amount on behalf of another person, would it be taxable in the hands of the assessee or the other person?

In the current scenario, income received by the assessee shall be taxable in the hands of the person to whom it belongs irrespective of who has received the amount. If the assessee becomes the actual owner of income, then it will be taxable in the hands of the assessee.
