What are the types of parental leaves and benefits in Estonia?

Based on the changes to the Family Benefits Act, the following leaves will come into effect on 1 April 2022: 

• maternity leave: This is for the mother only. 
• paternity leave: This is for the father only.
• parental leave (previously called childcare leave): Both parents can take parental leave, which is a right shared by both parents.
• adoptive parent leave.
