Do pension contributions affect tax and national insurance?

With auto-enrolment, pension contributions have no impact on national insurance contributions, as this is not a salary sacrifice scheme. When an employee makes a pension contribution, this will reduce their income tax liability as the scheme is a net pay arrangement. Therefore, tax relief does not need to be reclaimed.
