How do I get my CTPS number?

As a Brazilian employee, you are required to have a Carteira de Trabalho e Previdência Social (CTPS) number to work. If you do not have a CTPS number you can get one by either using the government app or you can use another required document which your Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas (CPF).

Using the government app

  1. Download the government app, CAIXA trabalhador.
  2. Create an account or log in if you already have an account.
  3. Click on meu NIS.
  4. When you scroll down, you will find your CTPS number.

Using your CPF number

For step-by-step guidance on how to do this, you can watch this video. Basically, you should add your CPF number (11 digits) accordingly:

  1. CTPS Number: First 7 numbers of your CPF.

  2. CTPS Series: Last 4 numbers of your CPF.

  3. CTPS issued by: Should always be São Paulo.

  4. CTPS date issued: The day you completed your onboarding on Remote.
