The customer must ensure that the works council members have the time to do their work associated with the council during working hours. Remote in consultation with the works council members will decide on how many hours this is. It must be at least 60 hours per year.
Furthermore, by law, members of the works council are entitled to paid training leave during working hours and any training costs must be covered by the customer. Finally, works council members are protected employees and can only be dismissed in very limited circumstances.
