Which types of Travel Letters can be provided?
The type of travel letter you receive depends on the reason for your travel:
-
Business Travel
If you are travelling for business purposes (e.g., meetings, conferences, or other work-related activities), the Mobility Team will issue a Business Travel Letter confirming the professional nature of your trip.
If you're taking a personal trip but plan to work remotely during that time, you may still need a business travel letter. In such cases, please submit a Remote Work Request, and our Mobility Team will guide you on the next steps.
⚠️ Note: This Business Travel Letter does not include any risk assessment or mandatory reporting required by destination country authorities. If your travel needs to be reviewed for compliance, please submit a Remote Work Authorization request. -
Personal Leisure Travel
If you are travelling for personal reasons, you may request an Employment Verification Letter confirming your current employment status and ties to your home country. This letter confirms factual employment details only. Remote does not issue travel letters, leave confirmation letters, or work-from-abroad authorization letters for personal travel. If you will also be working remotely during your trip, you must submit a Remote Work Authorization (RWA) request via the Request Hub separately.
When do I need a Business Travel Support Letter?
- When you are applying for a visa or attending an embassy appointment and will be working in the location.
-
When you are travelling for business purposes and may need to confirm the purpose and activities of your trip at a port of entry regardless of the need for a visa.
A business travel support letter is a document provided by Remote to assist employees who are travelling internationally for business purposes. It may support visa applications, embassy appointments, or serve as confirmation of approved travel at the port of entry. The letter outlines the purpose of the trip, travel dates, and confirms the employee's ongoing employment status.
Remote offers comprehensive support to facilitate business travel, and business travel support letters are a key component of this. By helping employees navigate visa requirements and providing official documentation, these letters play an essential role in ensuring smooth and compliant cross-border mobility.
Please note that in some cases, you may also require an invitation letter from the company or individual who you will be visiting on your business trip. However, please be aware that neither the invitation letter nor the business travel letter guarantees visa approval or entry into any country.
