The Organization chart helps you visualize your team structure.

Understanding the Org Chart on Remote

The Org chart in Remote gives you a visual overview of your company’s structure and reporting lines. You can use it to:

  • Assign or update managers for team members

  • Understand reporting hierarchies

  • Spot gaps or misaligned reporting relationships

Who appears in the Org chart

For a team member to show in the Org chart, they must be assigned to a manager. You can assign reporting lines in two ways:

  • During onboarding

  • After onboarding, using either:

    • The Team tab (recommended if the manager needs platform access)

    • Company settings (for visibility only, no access)

Assign or update reporting lines from the Org chart

You can also add reporting lines directly from the Org chart page:

  1. Go to the Team tab and select Org chart from the dropdown.
  2. At the top of the page, select Add reporting lines.
  3. Use this screen to assign managers to any team members who don’t currently have one.
  4. Once you've updated your team, select Submit.

Who can access the Org chart

By default, only company admins can view the Org chart. You can choose to share it with team members (employees and contractors) through Company settings.

To change visibility settings:

  1. Go to Company settingsTeamOrg chart settings.

  2. Use the toggles to enable access for employees and/or contractors.

This helps create transparency and improves team awareness across your organization.
