If you've just received an invitation to join Remote — welcome! 🎉 This guide will walk you through the first steps to create your account and complete your onboarding.
Step 1: Accept your invitation
You’ll receive an email with the subject line "Welcome to [Company Name]". This email includes a button labeled Create account. When you're ready, open the email and follow the link to begin.
Step 2: Set your password
To keep your account secure, you'll first be asked to create a password. Make sure it’s something memorable but safe, you’ll use this to sign in going forward.
Step 3: Complete your onboarding details
After setting your password, you'll begin your onboarding. This step helps your company and Remote collect the essential information needed to get you set up correctly.
You’ll be asked to provide:
- Your personal details, such as your full name, sex, gender identity, nationality, date of birth, and phone number
- Your home address
- An emergency contact
Make sure your personal profile is accurate and up to date and use the same details that appear on your official ID.
Depending on how your company is set up with Remote, there may be additional steps — such as uploading documents, signing agreements, or reviewing further details. But for most team members, the personal details above are the first milestone.
Step 4: Finish onboarding
Once you've completed all required sections, you'll see a message letting you know that your onboarding is done.
From there, you can move into your account and start getting familiar with your new workspace.
Step 5: Get to know the platform
The first time you enter your dashboard, you’ll be guided through a quick tour to help you understand where everything lives.
Once that’s done, you’ll land on your profile, where you can:
- Review the details you’ve just shared
- Make updates if anything changes
- Explore the rest of the platform
Every company’s setup may look a little different, depending on what Remote features they use. But you’ll always have access to the information that matters to you.
You're all set up! 🎉
If you’re ever unsure what to do next, your dashboard will highlight any tasks waiting for you.
