Employees in Puerto Rico are entitled to 18 public holidays per year, including national and religious observances. Part-time employees receive the same entitlement as full-time staff. Holidays are optional for the private sector, but Remote observes all public holidays. Public holidays count during maternity, paternity, adoption, and sick leave. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, it is usually observed the following Monday. Employees may work on a holiday if the company requires it, and such decisions must be followed by staff..
