How does the Greenhouse integration work?

The Greenhouse integration is a webhook that syncs candidate data between Greenhouse and Remote. Step-by-step setup instructions can be found in Greenhouse's help article, Remote integration.

How it works

Once the integration is set up, you can push new hire information to Remote at the Offer Stage in Greenhouse.

  1. Open the profile of the candidate you're ready to hire.
  2. Select the Offer Details tab.
  3. Select either Create Offer or Mark Candidate as Hired.
  4. On the pop-up form, select Yes for Send New Hire Information to Remote for Onboarding, and choose a country of employment from the dropdown menu.

Before you select Create Offer

Selecting Create Offer triggers Greenhouse's Offer Created webhook, which requires OAuth credentials to be configured in Greenhouse before it can sync successfully. See How do I set up the Greenhouse Offer Created webhook with OAuth? for setup steps.

Selecting Mark Candidate as Hired instead triggers the Candidate Hired webhook, which does not require the OAuth setup.

What happens in Remote

Within your Remote account, if the candidate already exists, their information is updated. If they don't exist (which is the most common case), a new candidate profile is created in Remote.
