Why can't I pay contractors yet?
Before you can pay contractors through Remote, your account must pass a Know Your Business (KYB) verification. Remote requires this step to confirm your company's identity and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Until KYB verification is complete, the contractor payments feature remains disabled.
What is KYB verification?
KYB verification is a security check that Remote performs on all new accounts. During this process, Remote reviews the company documentation you provided during onboarding. This includes details such as:
- Business registration or incorporation documents
- Proof of company address
- Identity verification of company directors or authorized signatories
Make sure all uploaded documents are current, legible, and match the company details in your Remote profile. Mismatches or missing documents are the most common cause of delays.
How long does KYB verification take?
In most cases, KYB verification is completed within 24 hours. If additional documentation is needed, Remote contacts you by email with specific instructions.
How do I check my verification status?
You can monitor your account verification status by logging into Remote and navigating to Company settings. If your account is still under review, the status displays as "Pending verification."
What if my verification is taking longer than expected?
If your verification has not been completed within the expected timeframe, contact Remote support through live messaging. A team member can provide a status update and help resolve any outstanding requirements.
