Humaans integration with Remote

This article explains how the Remote and Humaans integration works, what data is synced, and how to set it up.

How the integration works

Remote integrates directly with Humaans, a modern people platform, to keep employee data in sync across both systems. The integration launched in April 2026 and is built by Humaans.

The connection is established via OAuth with Remote, and all configuration is managed from the Humaans integration settings.

The integration is bidirectional:

Sync direction What is synced
Remote → Humaans Employment data
Humaans → Remote Approved time away
Remote → Humaans Payslips (documents)

Once setup is complete, the integration supports an initial matching step to backfill existing employees, followed by ongoing automated updates.

What data is synced

Employment data (Remote → Humaans)

Core employee and employment information syncs from Remote into Humaans. This includes:

  • Personal details and contact information
  • Employment dates
  • Job role details
  • Country and location data
  • Compensation
  • Tax-related data
  • Bank details
  • Emergency contact information

Note: Some fields have country-specific handling depending on the employment setup.

Time away (Humaans → Remote)

Approved time away can be synced from Humaans into Remote. To enable this, you need to:

  • Map Humaans time away types to the corresponding Remote time off types
  • Set a default Humaans time away policy for newly created synced employees
  • Select a designated approver on the Remote side for synced time off requests

Payslips (Remote → Humaans)

Payslips generated in Remote can be synced into Humaans as documents. This is configured by mapping Remote payslips to the relevant document type in Humaans.

How to enable the integration

The integration is configured in Humaans. You need an admin account with the relevant permissions in both Remote and Humaans to complete setup.

  1. Go to the Integrations area in Humaans and connect Remote using your admin account.
  2. Review and confirm the employment field mappings.
  3. If required, enable time away sync — map leave types, set a default time away policy, and select the Remote approver for synced time off requests.
  4. If required, configure payslip sync by mapping Remote payslips to a Humaans document type.
  5. Run the initial sync to match and backfill existing employees.

Once the initial sync is complete, the integration will continue to update automatically.
