Remote MCP works with any AI client that supports the Model Context Protocol. This article lists the clients that work today and the ones that are coming.
Works today
- Claude Desktop
- claude.ai
- Claude Code
- Cursor
Other MCP-compatible clients can also connect. The menus and steps differ from client to client, but the connection URL is the same: https://mcp.remote.com/mcp.
Coming soon
- ChatGPT — native support is on the way.
- Codex — native support is on the way.
- GitHub Copilot and other AI clients — we are working on broader compatibility.
How to connect a tool
- Claude Desktop or claude.ai: see: How do I connect Claude to my Remote account?
- Claude Code: see: the dedicated Claude Code guide.
- Cursor or any other MCP-compatible client: see: How do I connect Cursor or another MCP client to Remote?
What you can ask once connected
The tools you can access depend on your Remote role and permissions. For ideas, see: Example prompts to try with Remote MCP.
What stays the same across tools
- The endpoint is always
https://mcp.remote.com/mcp. - Authentication is always through your browser using your Remote credentials.
