You can disconnect Remote MCP from your AI client at any time. The AI will lose its ability to call Remote on your behalf as soon as you remove the connection.

Disconnect in Claude Desktop or claude.ai

  1. Open Claude.
  2. Go to Settings, then Connectors (in Claude Desktop this lives under Customize).
  3. Find Remote MCP.
  4. Remove or disable the connector.

Disconnect in Claude Code

Run the following command in your terminal:

claude mcp remove remote-mcp

Then restart Claude Code.

Disconnect in Cursor or another MCP client

Open the client's MCP configuration (often .mcp.json) and remove the remote-mcp entry. Restart the client.

Optional: sign out of Remote in your browser

If you also want to make sure your next connection uses a fresh sign-in, sign out of Remote in your browser before reconnecting.

Automatic disconnection

If your Remote account is de-provisioned (for example, during offboarding), the AI client's access is revoked automatically and you do not need to do anything.

Need to reconnect later?

Follow the connection guide for your AI client and sign in to Remote again.
