Example prompts to try with Remote MCP

Here are starter prompts you can try once Remote MCP is connected to your AI client. The AI will only return data your Remote account is allowed to see. Most tools are read-only, with a limited set of write actions (such as time off and expenses) depending on your role.

For your own employment

  • I'd like to take time off to maximise my break. Are there any weeks where I could combine public holidays to get the most time off? Show me the result in a calendar view.
  • How many time off days do I have left this year?
  • When is my next payday?
  • What is my notice period?
  • When does my contract end?
  • Who do I report to?
  • What are the upcoming public holidays in my country, based on Remote's data?

For managers (about your direct reports)

  • Which of my direct reports are on leave this week?
  • Show contract end dates for my team.
  • What are the upcoming pay dates for people on my team?

For admins

  • Summarize headcount by country and department, and flag any country with fewer than 5 employees.
  • List every employee whose contract ends in the next 90 days, grouped by country, to support renewal planning.
  • Show upcoming payroll deadlines this month and highlight any that fall on a public holiday.
  • Pull contract types and reporting lines for the Sales team, and draft a summary suitable to share with their manager.

What Remote MCP won't do

  • It can't change sensitive employment details like your salary or contract. Most actions today are read-only.
  • It won't show information about another person unless your role and permissions in Remote already allow it.

A few good habits

  • Be specific about the time window and the people involved.
  • Ask the AI to show its sources, when the AI client supports it.
  • Double-check important answers in Remote before acting on them.
