The Remote AI agent is a conversational assistant built directly into Remote. You ask a question in plain language, and it helps you find information, complete supported tasks, and generate insights, all within the permissions you already have. It is available to both customers (employer admins) and users (employees and contractors).

What is the Remote AI agent?

The Remote AI agent is a conversational assistant that lives in a panel you open from a pull tab on the right side of your screen, available across Remote. You do not need to know where information lives in the platform. Ask a question, and the agent tries to retrieve the answer or complete the task for you, always using the access you already have.

The beta is available across Remote products and user roles. What each person can do depends on their role and permissions. You and a company admin can ask the same question, as long as the question respects your role's permissions, though the way the agent presents the answer can differ (for example, a chart for one person and a table for another). Certain questions or activities, such as comparing pay variance across the company, won't be available to you if your permissions don't give you access to that data.

How do I access the Remote AI agent?

  • Open the Remote AI agent from the pull tab on the right side of your screen inside Remote.

  • Type your question or request in plain language to get started. When you open a new chat, you will see suggested prompts.
  • Your conversations stay active when you close and reopen the panel, and the agent can keep working on a task you have asked it to complete even after you close it, so you can pick up where you left off.

Who can use it?

  • Customers (employer admins): use the agent for people, payroll, onboarding, time off, and reporting tasks within your permissions.
  • Users (employees and contractors): use the agent for your own information and self-service tasks, such as checking balances or updating personal details.

The beta is not available to companies onboarded to Remote Payment Services (RPS).
