Use Balance by entity to see your company's current billing position across bill-to entities and currencies. You can review what makes up each balance, open the matching billing documents, or move to Account activity for more detail.
Open Balance by entity
- Sign in to Remote.
- Open Billing → Invoices.
- Find Balance by entity at the top of the page.
What the summary shows
Each row shows the current totals for one bill-to entity and currency:
- Open invoices: the total outstanding amount and the number of open invoices and debit memos.
- Credit notes: the total value and number of credit notes that remain available.
- Unapplied cash: money Remote has received for that entity and currency but has not yet applied to an invoice.
- Net balance due: the total for open invoices and debit memos after available credit notes and unapplied cash are taken into account.
A negative net balance means the available credits and unapplied cash are greater than the total for open invoices and debit memos. The widget is a current summary, so use Account activity when you need to see the transactions behind a balance.
How entities and currencies are grouped
Balances are kept separate for each bill-to entity and currency.
If an entity has activity in one currency, its totals appear on a single row. If it has activity in several currencies, select the arrow beside the entity to expand it. Remote then shows a separate row for each currency.
Remote does not convert or combine these amounts into one currency. For example, a EUR balance and a USD balance remain separate.
Open the matching invoices
Select View open invoices on the right of a row to open the invoice list for that bill-to entity and currency. The list is filtered to open invoices and debit memos, so you can review the documents included in the total.
Use View open invoices to open the filtered billing document list.
Review the activity behind a balance
Select View activity on the right of a row to open Account activity for that bill-to entity and currency. From there, you can review the invoices, payments, credit notes, refunds, and other events that changed the balance.
Use View activity to review the transactions behind a balance.
Show or hide the widget
Select Hide to collapse the full summary. Select Show when you want to display it again. This changes only the page view and does not affect your billing data.
If a balance does not look right
First, check that you are reviewing the correct bill-to entity and currency. Select View activity to see the transactions behind the total.
If you still need help, submit a request to Remote Support. Include the bill-to entity, currency, invoice or credit-note reference if relevant, and a screenshot of the balance.
