Remote protects data at rest by encrypting it with strong cipher suites. Applicational user data is stored in a database encrypted at rest using the AES-256 encryption algorithm, employing the usage of an AES KMS key. Confidential files uploaded to our application are stored in AWS S3 and are encrypted at rest using a two-tier encryption scheme: a bucket AWS KMS key and a per-user AES-256 key.
