Why does the credit/debit card payment method have a surcharge?

When you pay your employer of record (EOR), Global Payroll or contractor invoices via Cards, you will be subject to a 3.5% surcharge. This surcharge is a fee charged by the payment processor and not something Remote has a margin on. Alternatively, depending on your billing currency, you can use a different payment method to avoid the surcharge.

Payments to Remote should not be considered as an eCommerce payment where it is not allowed for surcharges to be added. These are instead B2B payments meant to fund payroll for employees and payments for contractors' invoices.
