Probation performance reviews provide a clear and unbiased framework for assessing the new employee's capabilities, reliability, and suitability for the job. It may also increase the probability that new employees will succeed in their new roles. Remote's recommendation is to make these reviews as frequent as possible (bi-weekly, monthly, depending on the length of the probation) during the probation period. It's also important to keep documentation of these reviews because in some countries, even during the probationary period, there has to be a reason for termination.
