We've outlined how to track your time and calculate overtime based on local regulations. If you're a salaried, non-exempt employee eligible for overtime, this guide will clarify the process.

In this article, we cover the following:

• Why time tracking matters
• How to track your hours
• Additional FAQs

As a salaried, non-exempt employee, tracking your hours accurately is crucial for ensuring compliance with local labor laws and calculating any overtime you may be eligible for. Overtime is automatically calculated by the system, so all you need to do is track your time properly.

1. From the Time tracking tab, you have the option to log your hours.
2. When entering your work hours in Remote, you will see options for tracking regular hours, breaks, or on-call time.
3. After entering your hours worked, select Regular hours. Our system automatically calculates overtime based on your state's rules.
4. • For example, if your state requires overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 hours in a week, the system will flag those hours as overtime and calculate them accordingly.

4. Once you’ve logged all your hours for the week, submit your timesheet.

Why can’t I log overtime manually?

• Overtime is calculated automatically based on labor laws and the policies set for your location. This ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.

How is overtime calculated?

• Overtime rules vary by country/state, but common examples include:
• • 1.5x Pay: For hours worked beyond 40 in a week.
  • Double Time: For hours worked beyond 12 in a single day (applicable in states like California).

What happens if I forget to submit my timesheet?

• If your timesheet is not submitted on time, overtime will not be calculated or processed until your timesheet is reviewed and approved by your employer.
