Yes, there is a one-time cost for transferring an employee between Remote entities. This cost covers the additional effort involved in offboarding the employee from one Remote employing entity and onboarding them into another. It applies specifically to relocation cases: situations where the employee moves to a different country and therefore needs to be employed by another Remote entity under the Employer of Record (EOR) service.
What’s included in the EOR Country Transfer Service?
This service and respective cost (per employee, per transfer) covers:
-
The offboarding process from the current entity.
-
The onboarding process into the new entity.
-
Internal coordination to ensure full legal and operational compliance.
-
Updates to employment agreements and necessary documentation.
The country transfer service route includes several benefits:
- No employment gap: We ensure a seamless transition between contracts, reducing legal and operational risks.
- PTO transfer: Transferring accrued PTO between contracts is only supported in relocation cases, and even then, only when local laws allow.
- Payroll continuity: Ensures smooth payroll management without payment delays due to timing or country-specific changes.
- Operational coordination: Our offboarding and onboarding teams work closely during relocations to align on timelines and prevent disruptions.
This cost is separate from the monthly management fee, as the transition involves additional handling, checks, and coordination between multiple teams.
What if the employee also needs mobility/visa support?
If the employee requires visa or mobility support as part of the relocation, that is not included in the entity transfer cost. Any applicable mobility costs will be added on top and charged separately.

When is this cost not applicable?
If the employee is not eligible to work in the new country, then the relocation will not proceed. Since there’s no actual offboarding/onboarding process in that case, the entity transfer cost does not apply.
