Contractor of Record (COR) Availability Guide

Remote's Contractor of Record service is available in most countries and jurisdictions worldwide, enabling companies to compliantly engage contractors across the globe. However, certain restrictions and exceptions apply.

Eligibility Exceptions

Contractors and companies may be ineligible for Contractor of Record services in the following situations:

  • United Kingdom: Contractors in the UK who are determined to be inside IR35 regulations cannot use COR services
  • Bahrain: Non-Bahraini nationals are not eligible for COR
  • Saudi Arabia: Saudi nationals are eligible. Non-Saudi nationals are only eligible if contracting via a local business entity or under a Special Privilege Iqama visa.
  • Contractors in any of the following countries

Same-Country Entity Restriction

⚠️ Important: Contractor of Record services are not available when a company has a legal entity in the same country as the contractor.

Example: A company registered in France cannot hire France-based contractors through COR. The company would need to use alternative engagement methods for contractors in their home country.

  • Pitcairn Islands
  • Tokelau

Antarctica & Sub-Antarctic Territories

  • Antarctica
  • Bouvet Island
  • French Southern Territories
  • Heard Island and McDonald Islands
  • South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands
