Remote Invoices Overview: Balance, Invoices & Credits
This article explains how invoices work in Remote, including how to view your current balance, open invoices, applied credits, and invoice status across products.
The Remote invoices tab shows an overview of all your invoices and credit notes as well as their status (paid, unpaid etc.). From the Remote invoices tab, you can view your current balance of outstanding invoices by each of your business entities.
Here's how the current balance widget works:
- Sum of open invoices
- Sum of open credit
- Net balance for that entity
- If you have balances in multiple currencies, then these will be shown until the balance is reduced to 0 (in the event, for example, you recently changed billing currency).
- Buttons on the right-hand side help you to easily
- Filter the open invoices pertaining to that given entity - so you can quickly view and take action
- Jump to the Account activity page - so you can view how your balance has been managed
From individual invoices you can access two additional sections:
- Invoice overview: To access this tab, click on the invoice you'd like to look at. This tab provides a high-level overview of the selected invoice. From here, you can:

- Pay your invoice
- Download an itemized report
- Download the invoice as a PDF
- Invoice breakdown: The Invoice breakdown tab shows every charge on the invoice — the same breakdown format is used across every Remote product, not only EOR. From here, you can also see the contractor subscription bill breakdown, and export the breakdown data as a CSV file.

A credit can appear on your account for several reasons: your EOR reconciliation invoice found that your actual costs were lower than what was pre-funded (see What is the invoice process for EOR customers?), Remote issued a credit note to correct a billing error or dispute (see All About Remote Invoice Types & Credit Notes), or you have unapplied cash from a previous payment.
Whatever the source, credits show as "Credit available" on your account balance until they're applied to a future invoice or refunded, based on your Credit management settings. See Manage credit application settings for how to choose whether Remote applies eligible credit notes and cash balance automatically.
