When it’s time to say goodbye to an employee, no matter the circumstances, staying organized and tracking their offboarding progress is crucial. It also allows you to create a smooth and clear experience for everyone involved.

With Remote's new offboarding checklist, you can monitor the completion of tasks that need to be done before an employee leaves the company.

For example, if a team member is leaving, you can create a checklist that includes tasks, such as:

  • Collecting company property
  • Revoking access to systems
  • Conducting an exit interview

Note: this feature is currently only available for use with employees hired through your company’s own entity. Use with Employer of Record and Contractor Management hires is coming next.

How to use an offboarding checklist:

View a self-guided demo

  1. To add a checklist to the offboarding process, go to the Offboarding tab under the employee's profile and click on Create offboarding checklist.

  2. Once created, a default checklist is added to the employee profile. You can use the checklist as it is or edit it by adding or removing items.

  3. When a task is marked done, it will be checked off and the name of the person who did it and the date it was checked will be recorded.

You can even add your own custom tasks to the offboarding checklist and save it as a template for future use!
