When you connect Remote Equity to Carta, Remote automatically imports key equity data from your cap table. This keeps grant management and tax reporting accurate without manual data entry.
What Carta syncs to Remote
The following data is imported from Carta:
- Fair Market Value (FMV) history — used for tax calculations at the time of taxable events
- Latest price per share, fully diluted share count, and option pool size — used to keep your equity data current
- Equity plan name
- Stakeholder details, grant information, and exercise events — for employees linked to Remote as EOR team members
Important: RSU grant data syncs automatically from Carta, but you still need to confirm RSU vesting events manually in Remote Equity. This is because the price per share may have changed and may not always be current in Carta.
The Carta integration does not support SARs or tokens. If you issue any of these, contact your Remote account team to enter them manually.
Visibility
Synced cap table data is visible only to Admins and Owners in Remote Equity. Employees do not have access to FMV, share price, pool size, or any other cap table data.
After the connection
Once Carta is connected, Remote automatically syncs all grant and exercise updates — you no longer need to update this information manually. This ensures the tax and compliance team can act on taxable events accurately and on time.
You can disconnect Carta at any time and switch to manual management if needed.
