How do I delete my account as a Remote customer?

If you created a Remote account for your company, account deletion is only possible under these conditions:

  • You created an account but have not invited any team members, contractors, or freelancers.
  • You created an account and invited team members, contractors, or freelancers, but none of them have logged into Remote.

What if the employee, contractor, or freelancer has already created an account on Remote?

If you did not proceed with hiring the employee and the contractor never submitted an invoice, Remote can perform a soft delete. A soft delete restricts access to the account and stops processing of personal information on the platform.

Remote relies on its right to hold personal data for legal protection purposes. The information will be erased within six calendar months from when the request is made.

What if the employee has been hired or a contractor's invoice has been processed?

In this case, Remote cannot delete all personal data. Remote relies on its:

  • Compliance obligations in the field of tax and labor law
  • Contractual commitments towards the employee (where applicable)
  • Right to hold personal data about the employee and contractor for legal protection purposes

As an alternative, Remote can archive the profile. Archiving restricts the processing of personal information on the platform. The data will be erased in line with the relevant statutory requirements in the jurisdiction of the employee, contractor, or freelancer.
