View paid time off entitlement
Remote makes it easy for employees to see how much paid time off (PTO) they’re entitled to take, have already taken, and have requested. This experience is available to employees in all countries.
- Go to the Time off tab of your account.
- Go to the Leaves and balances section.
The first card displays a calculation of how many hours of unused paid time off are available. Click the icon to view additional details and explanations.
The second card displays how many national holidays are available based on the employee’s location. Click the icon to view the complete list of holidays.
The table gives a complete record of all time off requests; as in other areas of the platform, users can filter this data.
Request a full day off

- Click on the Request time off button.

Request less than a day off
Time off on Remote is based on an 8-hour workday. If you need to request less than a full day off, you can adjust the exact number of hours you need to take off before submitting your request.
Note: It is also possible to vary the number of hours off you need over a couple of days. For example, if you need to take 3 hours of paid time off (PTO) on the Day 1 and 5 hours each on Day 2 and Day 3, it is possible to do this in one request rather than creating multiple requests.
That's it! You have submitted a request for time off. Now you have to wait for your manager to review and approve your request. Time off requests are not approved/declined by Remote.
