In some countries, it's possible for a team member’s salary to be denominated in a non-local currency, such as USD or EUR — and in some cases, also paid in that currency.

This setup gives you more flexibility in managing compensation across markets with unstable local currencies or where employees request alignment with global benchmarks.

About the Foreign Currency Salary Fee

As of June 1, 2025, Remote will introduce a $50/month fee per employee for non-local or linked currency salary arrangements. This cost reflects the operational complexity and additional compliance work required to support non-standard payroll setups.

You’ll only be charged if you actively request this option for a specific team member in the allowed countries. It will be clearly itemised on your Reconciliation invoice.
