With Custom Roles, company users can precisely control who approves and pays contractor invoices.
To set this up:
1. Navigate to Admins and Permissions under Company in the left sidebar.
2. Click Add New in the top right corner and select Role
3. Type a name and a brief description of the role, such as Contractor Invoice Manager
4. Under Information Access, select:

Direct reports only if you want this new role to approve only their direct reports' invoices.

- Employment country: If you want this role to view information about employees or contractors assigned to a specific employment country, ensure the role is scoped to that country. Company users with permission to invite new employees or contractors can only invite individuals belonging to the employment countries for which their role is scoped. You can assign this custom role permission to one or more countries.

Entire company if you want this new role to be able to approve all contractors' invoices.

Direct reports only if you want this new role to approve only their direct reports' invoices.
5. Scroll down to Permissions and click on Contractors. To allow this role to approve and pay contractor invoices, View and Edit permissions need to be checked for Contractor Invoices. Here’s the list of permissions you can manage:

- View Invoices: To provide access for only viewing all contractor invoices, enable this option. Granting "View" permissions will allow members in this role to access contractor invoices according to their designated information access level.
- Approve Invoices: To provide access for approving invoices, enable this option. By default, members in this role have viewing permissions. To grant editing capabilities, check the "Edit" box.
- Pay Invoices: To allow members to pay invoices, enable this option. Viewing permissions are granted by default. If editing permissions are required, enable the "Edit" checkbox.
- Invoice schedules: Enable this option to allow management and adjustments of invoice schedules on behalf of contractors, ensuring timely and accurate billing cycles.
- Contractor rate: To provide control over contractor billing rates, enable this option. This allows for necessary adjustments and updates to rates.
- Manage contractor agreements: Enable this option to allow viewing and editing permissions for creating, assigning, and signing contractor agreements. This includes handling these tasks on behalf of other signatories.
6. Select any other applicable/relevant permissions - e.g. if you want this role to be able to schedule invoices on behalf of contractors, check View and Edit permissions for scheduled invoices, manage contractor rates and contractor agreements.
7. Click Save role to save the role first or click on Start adding people at the bottom of the page to add users who should have the above permissions to this role.
Note: If you are editing an already existing role, you will see the Manage members option that will allow you to add members to the role.
