Why is my Carta data syncing to Remote in the wrong currency?

When you connect Remote Equity to Carta, data including Fair Market Value (FMV) is imported automatically. If the values appear in the wrong currency, this is typically caused by an entity mismatch in your Remote workspace.

Why this happens

Remote determines the currency to use based on the entity configured in your Remote Equity company settings. If only one entity exists in your workspace, Remote defaults to that entity's currency — which may not match the currency you intended for your equity setup.

How to fix it

  1. Create the entity in Remote that corresponds to the currency you want (e.g. your US entity if you want USD).
  2. Go to Remote Equity → Company Settings → Company Details.
  3. Select the correct entity as your equity company entity.

Future Carta syncs will then import values in the correct currency.
