Mimic lets Company Owners and Super Admins safely view the platform from another company admin's perspective, without making any changes. Use it to validate role configuration, troubleshoot access, or check what an admin sees before or after inviting them.
Who can use Mimic and on whom?
Only Company Owners and Super Admins can use Mimic, and only on other company admins within their own company. You can mimic an admin whether they are in Draft status (not yet invited) or Active status.

What can I do during a Mimic session?
A Mimic session is view-only and time-limited to 30 minutes. You can:
- Navigate the platform exactly as the admin would see it
- Verify what features, pages, and data are visible to that admin
- Confirm role and permission setup before granting access
You cannot:
- Edit, submit, or delete any data
- Mimic another Owner or Super Admin
- Switch between profiles during an active session
- See an admin's own employee profile (if they also have one)
All Mimic sessions are logged for audit purposes.
How do I Mimic a company admin?
- Go to Company settings → Company admins.
- Find the admin you want to mimic.
- Open their profile and select 👓 Mimic admin.
- Confirm to start the session. You'll see a banner at the top of the screen during the session.
- To end the session early, click End session on the banner. Sessions automatically end after 30 minutes.
Example: Before inviting a new Finance admin, an Owner can save the admin as a draft, mimic them to confirm they can see invoicing pages but not employee personal data, then send the invite with confidence.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mimic an admin before they're invited?
Yes. Combined with the Save Company Admin as Draft feature, Owners and Super Admins can validate an admin's configuration before granting them access. See Save Company Admin as Draft (And invite later) for setup steps.
How do I disable Mimic for my company?
Mimic for company admins is enabled by default. If your company prefers to turn it off, contact Remote to request the feature be disabled for your account.
Is the user notified when I mimic them?
No, admins are not notified when they are mimicked. Because Mimic for admins is view-only and doesn't expose any data beyond what a Super Admin can already see, no new information is disclosed during a session.
