Fathers are entitled to paid paternity leave in the following circumstances:
- 5 working days of paid leave when their spouse or partner gives birth.
- 7 working days of paid leave if the birth involves surgery, if the child is born prematurely (before 32 weeks), or if there are complications during the birth.
- 10 working days of paid leave if their spouse or partner gives birth to twins. Each additional child (e.g. triplets) is entitled to an additional three working days, up to a maximum of 14 working days.
Paternity leave pay is provided by the Social Insurance Fund, not by employers. However, employers may choose to offer additional pay at their discretion.
Note: Employees must log their paternity leave through Remote's Time Off feature. This applies even if the Customer uses a different system, as recording leave through Remote ensures accurate balances and calculations. Employees can submit requests via the browser or the mobile app.
