Remote requires all employees and contractors to be at least 18 years of age. Remote does not hire individuals under the age of 18.

Why Remote does not hire individuals under 18

Hiring individuals under 18 poses challenges due to jurisdiction-specific requirements, including:

  • Additional labor regulations for minors, such as restrictions on working hours, overtime, minimum wages, and occupational safety requirements.
  • Enhanced data protection rules often apply to handling of minors’ personal information.
  • Our insurance policies only cover employees aged 18 and over.

Setting a minimum hiring age of 18 ensures that Remote complies with global labor and privacy regulations.

Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to all internal and external employees, including Global Payroll employees.

Employees confirm that they are at least 18 years of age if using the Remote platform and products. See our Terms of Service.

Exceptions

There are no exceptions. All hires must be 18 years or older.

Hiring individuals under the age of 18 would require significant operational adjustments to meet jurisdiction-specific requirements, and there is currently not enough demand to support these efforts.
