By default, the Company Owner and Super Admin have access to the Performance dashboard. To give HR Managers access, create a customized role for them with the Performance Management permission.

To set up a Performance Review

On the Remote platform, go to the Performance tab and from the dropdown menu, select Manage reviews.

Give your review a name. Then, choose the intended participants based on:
- Employment Type: This review can be set up for employees, contractors, or both.
- Minimum Tenure: Number of months participants must have been employed to be included

Click Save and continue to proceed to the next page.

Choose the types of assessments to include in the review:

Self-reflection: Questions that prompt participants to evaluate their performance, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.

Manager reflection: Questions for the participant's direct manager to provide insights into the participant's performance.

Rating component: A 1-5 score that both the employee and their manager must give.

Calibration component (only available if Manager reflection and Rating component are included): An additional phase after Snapshots close where selected managers review scores across groups to ensure fair evaluation.

Schedule Snapshots and Calibration Event. Choose when participants can complete their performance reviews and when the Calibration Event will occur. Note: The Calibration Event must start after all snapshots are completed.

Set the calibration group (if applicable). Pair Calibrators with the participants they will assess. The calibration group can be split by Department or Custom fields (which you will need to create). See also:

Participants without a value in their chosen Custom Field will be placed in an unassigned group. You can move them manually to the desired group after the Calibration Event begins or update their custom field entry beforehand.

Once the groups are created, include calibrators in each group. You can also edit the group name (only People Managers can be Calibrators).

Customize the self-reflection by selecting which questions to include and deciding whether to add a Rating scale. If you include the Rating scale, define the description for each score and provide a title.
- The rating system has 5 fixed scoring options that cannot be modified.

Click Save and continue.

Review the details of the performance review then click Schedule or save as draft.

When a review is scheduled, team members can immediately see the Performance review on their profile. However, they won't receive a notification or call-to-action until the first Snapshot's start date. Before then, they cannot access or begin completing their scheduled self-reflection.
