If you would like to switch a contractor to a full-time employee, here's what you need to do:

  1. Review relevant country's Country Guide and Country Information help desk articles to familiarize yourself with hiring in that country.
    • Key points for review include: tax implications, statutory contributions and benefits, and payment currencies.
  2. Invite the contractor to the Remote platform using their existing email address
    • Use the same email address linked to their current contractor profile to create a new full-time employee profile. This ensures that they can manage both their contractor and new employee profiles under a single account and login credential.
    • During this step, you will enter all contract details that will be included in the employment agreement.
  3. Ask the contractor to submit their final invoice. Once they've received payment for their invoice, deactivate the contractor's profile.
  4. Once the employee completes their Remote profile, the Remote onboarding team will initiate the onboarding process to ensure full compliance within that country. This includes:
    • Review of the employee's right-to-work
    • Drafting a fully compliant employment agreement and obtaining employee signature
    • Answering country-specific questions the employee may have
    • Enrolling the employee in any benefits (statutory or supplemental)
    • Enrolling the employee in payroll
