Contractor onboarding overview

When a contractor is invited to Remote, they receive an email notification to start their onboarding process. Getting set up as a contractor on Remote is straightforward and seamless:

  1. When you receive the invite via email, you will be asked to create a password for your account.

  2. Once this is done, you will proceed to fill out your personal details and administrative details. In certain countries, you may be required to provide supporting documentation:
    Note
    : if you had already completed onboarding previously (for example, for a different client) and are using the same email address, we will be able to automatically copy and pre-populate onboarding information for you - all you’ll have to do is to review the details to ensure they’re up to date and click “Continue” in each onboarding step.

  3. A required step in the onboarding process is to perform identity verification - you will need your physical ID and access to a camera to complete this step.

  4. When you have completed all your onboarding tasks, you will be able to redirected to your dashboard.

  5. In your dashboard, the first thing you may want to do is add a withdrawal method so that you can start creating invoices.

  6. As a contractor in Remote, you can:
    1. Create one-time or recurring invoices and get paid
    2. Track time and create invoices from the time you saved in Remote
    3. Upload expense receipts and add them to invoices for reimbursement
    4. Upload documents, keep track of time off, sign up for health benefits and more!
