Managers need visibility into the whereabouts of their team to ensure proper coverage, collaboration, and well-being; that’s why we’ve created the time off dashboard in Remote. You can access this dashboard from the Time off tab.
After clicking into the Time off tab on the left-hand navigation, you’ll get key visuals and insights about your team, including:
- A timeline view of who’s taking time off and when, allowing for better resource planning
- Dates of higher-than-usual employee absences
- Employees that haven’t taken time off in awhile and may need a break
- Any pending time off requests
- Upcoming public holidays by country
How to check the status of a leave request in the Remote platform
When an employee requests time off in the Remote platform, you will be sent an email notification to review and either approve or deny it.
In the Requested time off section, you can see submitted time off requests and choose to approve or decline them. As is outlined below:
For more context, you can view the details of a request before approving it.
- After approving or declining a request, the employee will receive a notification via email.
- If you've approved a request, reversing the decision is not possible. The employee must cancel their time off request on their end.
Approving time off requests after the payroll cut-off deadline
The payroll cutoff is the deadline for submitting changes, such as new hires, approved expenses, incentives, or overtime and time off, to ensure they are included in that month's payroll.
Missing the payroll cut-off deadline ⚠️
Time off requests that are either made or approved in retrospect are at risk of not being captured in the relevant months payroll. For this reason, Remote encourage employees and all time off managers to request, review and approve time off requests promptly.
